Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. Isaiah relayed God’s message to Hezekiah that he was not going to recover from his illness, Hezekiah was going to die. Hezekiah prayed to the Lord, crying out about his faithfulness, devotion and all the good he had done in God’s eyes. God heard Hezekiah’s prayer, and added fifteen years to his life, and promised to defend the city from Assyria. God gave Hezekiah a sign by making the sun go back ten steps on the stairway of Ahaz.
Hezekiah wrote about his illness, his prayer to God for help, and how God saved him, brought him to recovery so that he could praise the Lord and tell everyone about God’s faithfulness and greatness.

In Isaiah 38 Hezekiah was sick and dying. He wrote about his illness, his prayer to God for help, and how God saved him, brought him to recovery so that he could praise the Lord and tell everyone about God’s faithfulness and greatness. Lord, thank You for constantly listening, hearing my prayers. Thank You for Your faithfulness to us. Make me relentless, my God, to always do Your will, and to praise You while I still have breath, spread Your goodness to all, while I still have life, for in death, it is too late, nothing and no one can do anything after death.
Isaiah 38:18 For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your praise; those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your faithfulness. 19 The living, the living–they praise you, as I am doing today; fathers tell their children about your faithfulness.

Isaiah 33: Woe to the destroyer for they will be destroyed when they stop destroying. Lord, be our strength every morning, our salvation in times of distress. The Lord fills Zion with his justice and righteousness and will be the sure foundation. Fear of the Lord is the key to the treasure of wisdom, and knowledge. "I will arise," says the LORD. The sinners in Zion are terrified; trembling grips the godless. The righteous will dwell on the heights, his refuge will be the mountain fortress. His bread will be supplied, and water will not fail him. The arrogant will not be seen again, Zion and Jerusalem will be at peace. There the Lord will be our Mighty One, our judge, our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is he who will save us. No one living in Zion will say, "I am ill"; and the sins of those who dwell there will be forgiven.

Being with the Lord is a wonderful blessing, for the He protects us, and nothing can happen to us apart from God’s permission. Father, thank You for Your protection. By Your Word, we are able learn the ways of righteousness, to speak what is right and avoid the evil that lurk around us each day. Enlighten me Lord, to know more about Your will, and be with me, for You are my refuge, You are our Provider. With You constantly in my thoughts and in my heart, Father, I am safe, and have all I need.
Isaiah 33:15 He who walks righteously and speaks what is right, who rejects gain from extortion and keeps his hand from accepting bribes, who stops his ears against plots of murder and shuts his eyes against contemplating evil– 16 this is the man who will dwell on the heights, whose refuge will be the mountain fortress. His bread will be supplied, and water will not fail him.
