So What’s New with Britney Spears?

Last Jan.5, Britney Spears was released from the Cedars-Sinai hospital, hours after losing custody of her two sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline.   She was discharged from the hospital, where she was admitted as a "special needs" patient, on Saturday.  She was taken on a stretcher by paramedics Thursday night after police intervened when she refused to return the children to Federline after a monitored visit.  According to TMZ, Britney was released by the hospital without notifying or consulting any of the lawyers in the case.

I really think the hospital officials did not make the right decision to allow Britney to leave the hospital.   Just take a look at her… I think she is really sick and needs closer medical attention at this point of time.  Immediately after she was released, she was seen already on the streets again with her new love interest!  I mean, what kind of a mother is that?  Her kids were already taken away from her, yet it didn’t seem to matter to her at all!  I was thinking that such an experience would teach her to change her life somehow, so she could win her children back.

Well, I guess that’s just the way it goes.  It’s something not really new to me at all, though.  I do personally know someone who loves her kids just about the same way Britney does.  What she cares about is finding out where she can dump her kids while she busies herself keeping an eye on her boyfriend… that is really pathetic.  I pity the kids.

Anyway, here’s that video of Britney after her release from the hospital…

My New Blog

Davey accompanied me to Ever Commonwealth mall this afternoon.  We had some photos printed and while waiting for the pictures, we walked around the mall.  I was rather pleased that the mall wasn’t as crowded as it was before Christmas and New Year’s day.  There were still a lot of shoppers, though.

We bought a new mousepad.. it’s a gel mousepad.  Davey has been complaining about cramping of his right arm and we were afraid these might be symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, since he spends long hours on his computer everyday.

So what is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?  I read that Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve, which runs from the forearm into the hand, becomes pressed or squeezed at the wrist.  It is caused by increased pressure on a nerve entering the hand through the confined space of the carpal tunnel.  You will experience pain or aching, and tingling or numbness. The symptoms are usually worse in the thumb, index and middle fingers. Sometimes they become so severe that the whole hand feels affected and the aching may sometimes extend up into the forearm.

                                                   Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Anyway, so we bought this new black gel mousepad.  It’s got this little lump of gel that supports the wrist while using the mouse.  So no matter how long he stays on his computer, his hand would be perfectly relaxed all the timeI suggest those of you who stay long hours on the computer should use this kind of mousepad too.  It’s not too expensive.. it costs 185 pesos here, and thats just about $4.51.

By the way,  I’m taking this opportunity to announce my new blog, Paulyn Ramirez’s Weblog.  This blog is just an extension of this site.  I will be writing, just the same, just about anything that comes into my thoughts.  Hope you all enjoy reading my blogs!

New Year’s Resolutions

Posted by Paulyn on Wednesday , January   2 , 2008 at 11:06 pm

Well, it’s that time of the year when everyone has reviewed his and her new year’s resolutions made from last year,  checked if they’ve accomplished their old resolutions, and made new ones too for the incoming year.

When I was a little girl, I used to dread this time of the year.  My dad would gather us all on the dining table on New year’s eve and would begin reading out loud the resolutions we submitted to him the previous year….aaargh!  There wasn’t a single year that I perfected my New year’s resolutions, and the ones I made seemed to become tougher and tougher and more difficult to accomplish year after year! Haha!

That experience did teach me a lot in life, though.  Long after my dad has passed away, I continued making my own resolutions every year, and reviewing the old ones too.  Somehow, I became conscious of certain things that I needed to fix up in my life, and in myself.  For me, resolutions are like goals and aims.  Things I want to successfully accomplish and to check out how I did at the end of the year.  Things I want to change in myself and I guess, in my way of life too.

Anyway, so here I go again, with my New Year’s Resolutions for 2008.  To give you all an idea, here are some I already have on my list…

     1. Gain weight  This year, this resolution is a MUST.  It’s about time I gave myself some attention on this matter before it’s too late.  I can’t live on the 95-lb. weight for the rest of my life!
     2. Stop smoking.  Pray for me, people, oh please pray for me!  This resolution definitely needs a lot of prayers!  I’ve made this decision time and again, and just the same, I’ve broken the rules, and still went back to  that old bad habit every single time.
     3. Time Management.    Yep, that’s very necessary for our business…

So the rest… they’re a bit personal, but I do hope I would be able to accomplish them by the end of this year!   Come to think of it, what if every single individual in this world who made a set of good New Year’s Resolutions did their best to live up to their resolutions for one whole year… and at the end of the year would realize that they had achieved some 80% of their New Year’s Resolutions….  Wow! …don’t you think the world would become a lot better place to live?  Well, that was just a thought…

Our New Year’s Eve Celebration

Our family pic this year, and,  our family pic last year – here.

New year’s eve was exhausting… but I loved every moment of it.  I enjoyed every minute preparing the family and our home for the coming of the New Year.  My househelp Jenjen took her holiday off last Sunday, so the kids and I worked together to clean up the house and prepare the "Media Noche", or, our New Year’s Eve dinner.

By 11pm, I was all done with the food and the house.  I sent the kids down to fix themselves up before midnight as I also wanted to take some family pics at Mom’s house.

We all wore yellow.  It is said that yellow symbolizes wealth and properity
